Fleming and John Great
Fantastic ! Stumbled on this ensemble a decade ago, and still love to listen to their first studio album. The wikipedia entry is a nice summary, but definitely check out "Ugly Girl" and "Shhhh" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fleming_and_John Enjoy! |
Pink Martini Good
We first heard Pink Martini on an NPR show, and I loved their wacky instrumentation and crisp lyricism. I have purchased 3 of their albums, and overall it is a hit-or miss based on each song. Some of their work sounds like they are trying too hard to be "world music," but a lot is just fun! Albums I would highly recommend: Sympatique and Hand on Little Tomato. Avoid Hey Eugene unless you like the preachy worl stuff :-) My favorite songs: Sympatique Autrefois Brazil Andalucia DondeEstas, Yoland |
Kensington LiquidAux Great
I had a simple need: charge my iPOD Touch 2nd gen in the car, and play it on my aux port. This device solved that and more, and it was only $45 on Amazon. LiquidAux has car charger and dock connector on a cable (works with any size or shape of case), line-out audio to auxillary cable, and a wireless remost to advance, pause, and shuffle tracks on the iPOD. The last part is my favorite, and allows the iPOD and whole device to be stowed in the center console of my Forester 09. Cool!! |
Pearl Jam Great
By far my favorite all-time band - I love the music, lyrics, and the way the group tries to circumvent the industry and connect directly to their fans. If I was stuck on a island and could only take 1 album... it would be Ten |
Matt Nathanson Great
I have the whole album and it's great - it's one that I can put on while doing work and groove without being distracted. reminds me a lot of Ray LaMontagne (Trouble). |
P!nk - Funhouse Great
I downloaded this from Amazon MP3 on the day it was released, and I have been listening to it or humming the songs ever since. Catchy, deep, defiant and depressed. It really is a carnival ride of emotion, and I enjoy every track. Definitely looking forward to what Pink does in the future!! |
Ray LaMontagne Great
Raymond Charles "Ray" LaMontagne (pronounced /lɑːmɒnˈteɪːn/ GenAm approximation: la-mon-TAYN) (born June 18, 1973) is an American folk singer-songwriter who, up until the summer of 2007, lived in Wilton, Maine. His current residence is unknown, but believed to be further north in Maine. After hearing a Stephen Stills song, he decided to quit his job at a shoe factory and pursue a career in music.
