Installation notes

  1. Make sure that Microsoft Outlook is not running.
  2. Run the QuarantineMail installer, and follow prompts.
  3. Start Outlook

Importing contacts

Once you’ve installed QuarantineMail, it’s best to approve your existing contact list:

  1. Click the QuarantineMail toolbar “Options…” button
  2. Make sure the “Accounts” tab is active
  3. Click the address book “Import” button.

Challenge modes

QuarantineMail has three challenge response settings:

  • “None - Learn mode” - Email from unknown senders will be placed in the “Quarantined” folder, but the “Challenge” button will not be available.
  • “Manual” (preferred) - Email from unknown senders will be placed in the “Quarantined” folder. You’ll be able to click the “Challenge” button and send challenge emails to quarantined senders.
  • “Automatic” - Once you’ve configured QuarantineMail, and have most of your known senders approved, you may want to let QuarantineMail automatically challenge unknown senders.

Licensing

If you own a license:

  1. Make sure you copy or move the license email into the “License” email folder (created by QuarantineMail).
  2. Select the license email, then click the QuarantineMail toolbar “Options…” button
  3. Select the “License” tab, and click the “Import license from selected email” button
  4. Restart Microsoft Outlook
